The Beginning: 5/21-6/2

I think the best way to document this summer is to upload pictures every once in a while with captions underneath to give background on the adventures. My summer started with going to one of my friends from college’s wedding. It was a small affair and my gift to her was making the wedding cake. Along the way, I made memories and traipsed along in adventure!

20120602-174623.jpgLeaving for FLORIDA! And of course, as true to our city as it can be, we are behind a car that is “tricked” out with decorations not short of cla$$y. I kid.

20120602-174726.jpgI’ve officially met my first beach! This is Clearwater Beach. I totes got the Jersey Shore/fist-pumping/spring break/PaRtY pEoPlE vibe from it. Ha.

Ahhhhhuh. This is North Beach, which is near Fort DeSoto. It was just the four of us total there, with a good length of beach just to ourselves. The smells and sounds and sights were brilliant. I also discovered at this beach that I am an expert fancy shell finder aka shell master.

20120602-174827.jpgMEAGAN’S WEDDING DAY! Obvi that is Ethan and her at the alter. I almost teared up, but I held it together like the tough girl I am. If Aynsley was in attendance, she most definitely would have cried her eyes out. The wedding was small and intimate. I felt really special to have been a part of the group that got to see her tie the knot!

Oh, here’s the wedding cake I made. Top and bottom tiers are vanilla with a caramel filling and the middle layer is vanilla/chocolate marble with a chocolate ganache filling. Oooo at this point, I had not covered up the shiny aluminum foil! Never again will I bake a wedding cake. Why did I even open my mouth haha.

20120602-174902.jpgOh, we’re back in the grand ole’ deep south. I think this was in Alabama. So tolerant, these folks.

20120602-174934.jpgThe sun setting right as we were nearing the end of our 13 hour long road trip back. The picture does not do it justice.

20120602-174950.jpgHUEY’S – Bluez 57 Burger // For the first restaurant meal back home, this was so super tasty. However, this was not my favourite, despite the oh so crispy bacon. The Madison Ave. Burger will forever have a place in my heart.

20120602-175003.jpgMango popsicle break with my sibs. Got these from the new international supermarket near our house. Noms. N.B. My little sister’s neon yellow nails! What a fashionista.

20120602-175015.jpgEarly rising and pizza dough making for dinner.

20120602-175023.jpgQuick lil’ trip to Urban Outfitters during the day while the dough was rising. I MUST HAVE THIS DRESS. UO’s website calls it the “Mellow Yellow” dress, but I don’t see anything mellow about it. I feel like a freakin’ goddess in it. First paycheck purchase perhaps?

20120602-175048.jpgNew iPhone app- I’D CAP THAT. Pretty fun stuff and certainly appropriate in this situation.

20120602-175103.jpgBoredom = me baking ridiculously delicious things that I have to give to people so that I don’t get fat from eating them all by myself. Oh, these are chocolate chip Oreo cookies, btdubs.

20120602-175055.jpgPIZZA from the dough I made earlier that morning. Split the dough to make one pizza. Enough to serve 2. Eggs should always be put on pizzas. I’ve never had an egg that silky before! The toppings were part breakfast, part dinner ha. N.B. This was so much tastier than any cake/cupcake I have ever eaten.

20120602-175127.jpg@ Bluefin. Isn’t that Kim Jong Eel Roll a little hilarious? Just agree.

20120602-175133.jpgBreakfast this morning. Peach Greek yogurt + egg toast (Hawaiian bread) sandwich.

20120602-175143.jpgI ALREADY MISS THE BEACH SO MUCH. It’s the one nature-y thing I enjoy, which throughly amused everyone. I don’t even mind that sand gets in my butt when I sit down on the sand. I could play all day there! Beach hair defies all rules- my hair rocked after it dried in its braid.
