Television, only watched during breaks.

As a full-time student, I rarely ever watch TV and don’t have a TV in my room, because it would only gather dust. I feel as if most people my age that are in college watch/catch up on their shows online whether it’s on Hulu, on the network’s page, or illegally. It’s incredibly awesome that we live in an age where DVR is kind of old school now. The advancement of technology has made it possible to make the shows flexible to OUR schedules. And my schedule is to cram all the television I want to watch during the longer breaks I have in my academic calendar.

Netflix gave me another free month to try (score!!!), so I finally jumped on the House of Cards bandwagon. I was a little skeptical, but midseason, I was entirely won over. I have to say though, to pique my interest on episode 7 is a little late, don’t you think? But I’m not complaining; it got smart and complex real quick. Kevin Spacey’s southern accent is something I can’t seem to get over and am continually obsessing over! The finale left me thinking if Claire’s falling behind in her and Francis’ jog is a metaphor for Francis’ ambitions entirely consuming their relationship. I’m eager to see what happens next! Some really awful things happen and really pitch politicians as slimy. As a political science major and witnessing the deep partisan divide between the parties, I wouldn’t put it past anyone of those fellas’ to pull awful tricks…

Also, another show that I’ve finally gotten on the bandwagon for is Scandal. Man, that show is CRAZY. Shonda Rhimes is ridiculous (the good, mind-blowing kind of ridiculous), and Kerry Washington has a very strange mouth. Are they mouth spasms?
